Social Practice

Collective Mourning and Moral Injury
Social injustices—even ones that do not impact us directly—leave us with intense losses that are both personal and interpersonal. We lack methods of mourning these losses together in ways that helps us move through pain into creative new futures. Together with interdisciplinary artist collaborators I am developing methods of social practice that can help us grieve together.
Re-imagining Group Experiences
Professional, educational, and other types of groups replicate processes of exclusion and uncritically reaffirm received wisdom, resulting in stagnation. Informed by artistic traditions of social practice, psychoanalysis and liberatory pedagogy, I am interested in crafting novel methods of engaging knowledge through creative group engagements.
